Getting set up

Step 1: Unboxing and Inspection
  • Carefully unpack your Nightflare: Pompeii device and inspect all components for any signs of damage during transit.

  • Ensure that you have received all necessary components, including the Nightflare: Pompeii board, thermocouple sensors (if included), power adapters, and any additional peripherals you may have ordered.

Step 2: Hardware Assembly
  • Install Thermocouples: If included in the pack, connect the thermocouple sensors to the screw-type terminal blocks on the Nightflare: Pompeii board securely.

  • Ensure proper orientation and tightness of the connections to guarantee accurate temperature readings.

Step 3: Powering Up the System
  • Choose a Power Source: Select one of the following methods to power your Nightflare: Pompeii device:

  1. USB: Use a USB power adapter to provide 5V power to the device.

  2. DC Jack: Connect a DC power adapter providing 5V to 7V power to the device.

  3. JST Connector: Alternatively, use a compatible JST connector to supply 5V to 7V power to the device.

Connect the chosen power source to the respective input power port on the Nightflare: Pompeii board.

Step 4: Wi-Fi Setup
  • Access Point Setup: Wait for the Nightflare: Pompeii device to boot up. Once booted, it will broadcast a Wi-Fi access point named "TempLoggerPortal."

  • Connect to Access Point: Using your smartphone or computer, connect to the "TempLoggerPortal" Wi-Fi network.

  • Configure Wi-Fi Credentials: Open a web browser and navigate to the configuration page (typically http://192.168.4.1). Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the device with your local Wi-Fi network credentials.

  • Wait for Restart: After configuring Wi-Fi credentials, wait for the Nightflare: Pompeii device to restart. You'll know it's restarted when the server connectivity indicator LED turns on.

Step 5: Accessing the Dashboard
  • Open a web browser on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

  • Navigate to the Nightflare: Pompeii dashboard URL provided in the setup instructions (e.g., https://innovationcentralph.com/templogger).

  • Log in using the provided credentials:

Username: admin

Password: admin1234@

  • Once logged in, you'll have access to the dashboard interface, where you can view and analyze temperature data collected by your Nightflare: Pompeii device.

Step 6: Monitoring and Analysis
  • Customize Dashboard: Explore the dashboard interface to customize chart views, set temperature thresholds, and configure alerts to meet your monitoring needs.

  • Analyze Data: Monitor real-time temperature data and analyze historical trends to gain insights into temperature fluctuations and patterns.

  • Take Action: Set up alerts to notify you via email or SMS if temperatures deviate from acceptable ranges, enabling proactive intervention to prevent issues.

Additional Setup (Optional)
  • Customize Peripherals: If desired, connect additional peripherals such as displays, sensors, or data loggers to the Nightflare: Pompeii board using the provided provisions (e.g., USB connector, I2C provision).

  • Explore Open-source Contributions: Consider exploring open-source contributions to enhance the capabilities and functionality of your Nightflare: Pompeii device further.
